Decking Rope Fittings
Decking Rope Fittings are used to terminate the ends of your rope. They’re a beautiful way of finishing your rope ends and look great in gardens (think garden decking), on ships and we’ve even fitted and created beautiful barrier ropes at pubs and restaurants throughout the country.
Perfect For Your Garden
Decking rope is used extensively in gardening to partition off various areas of the garden, so that larger animals do not enter the area and cause damage.
Using ropes has an additional advantage that it can provide support to the various plants and creepers. It is also cheaper than other methods of offering support like metal rods and tubes.Click Here to Read More
Create a Spectacular Boat Deck
The rope is also used in the marine sector, in boats and ship decks. The rope is made from different materials like jute, Manila, Sisal and hemp.
The ropes are fixed on to supporting structures like the walls using Decking Rope Fittings – they’re also known as Rope End Fittings.
The ropes are available in different diameters depending on the weight they are likely to carry. The thicker the roper, the stronger it will be (ideal for creating barrier ropes) and it can also carry more weight.
If a rope of a larger diameter is used, it will more difficult to breach the barrier ropes. Our decking rope fittings are available in two different sizes of 24 mm and 36 mm to suit the different types of ropes which are being used.
Typically our 24 mm decking rope fittings are suitable for a rope of size 20 mm to 28 mm, while for ropes of a larger diameter the 36 mm decking rope fittings should be used.
Our decking rope fittings are available in different materials (including polished brass, copper, polished chrome etc) and colours, and the buyer can purchase the fittings to match the decor, weather conditions and other considerations.
Most of our rope end fittings are made from powder coated steel which is strong, and the black colour fittings are designed to match this hardware.
Polished Brass, which is an alloy of zinc and copper is widely used in fittings, since it is durable and corrosion resistant.
Polished chrome decking rope fittings are used for application where durability is required, and the silver finish matches the decor. Gun metal does not get corroded when exposed to salt water, and is used in marine applications.
Some of our customers and home owners are interested in using Copper since the colour is similar to gold.
Binnacle Ring – Eye Plates
Our simplest and most inexpensive decking rope fittings is the post fitting binnacle ring (eye plates), which consists of metal eye plates, with rings, so that the rope can be passed through.
The cup end rope fittings and fixing has the simplest design among our rope end fittings. It has a circular base plate of diameter 50 mm and thickness 5 mm. 4 screws are supplied with the eye plates for fixing it on any surface.
The tubular cup end of the fitting has a bolt at the top end. The rope is passed around the bolt for tying it. The fitting is supplied shrink wrapped, and is available in packs of four or eight.
The rope centre fitting is easier to use while tying the rope, since it has a metal bracket. Like the cup fitting, it also has a metal base plate with a thickness of 5 mm, diameter 50 mm and holes for four screws. These screws are used for fixing the fitting to any surface or structures. The top of the fitting has a metal hoop and it is fixed to the base using a bolt.
It is easier to pass the rope through the metal hoop and fix the rope on the fitting. There is also more flexibility while tying the rope on the fitting. It is shrink wrapped for protection when supplied to customers.
The hook and plate type fitting for decking rope is the most versatile fitting since it can be fitted on a post or on the floor.
The base plate of the fitting is rectangular in shape and of size 55 mm X 30 mm and thickness 5 mm. It has four holes for fixing on any surface and the screws are also supplied. Unlike other rope fittings, a hook is also supplied which can be fixed on the hook of the rectangular plate.
The top end of the hook has a cylindrical structure which can be used for tying the rope. This design allows the user the greatest flexibility while tying the rope and it is also the most expensive fitting. Packs with eight or four fittings are available.
